Google Pulls the Plug on the Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 Ahead of the Pixel 6 Launch

Google Pulls the Plug on the Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 Ahead of the Pixel 6 Launch

Google Store in the US is expected to sell out of Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 in the next weeks,   according to reports.

Following the debut of the Pixel 5a (5G), Google announced that two older Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 4A 5G and also the Pixel 5, would be discontinued.

Google's spokesperson indicated the same in a statement: "With our current forecasts, we expect Google Store in the US to sell out of Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 in the coming weeks following the launch of Pixel 5a (5G). These products will continue to be available through some partners while supplies last."

The decision to abandon the Pixel 4a 5G makes sense now that the model's replacement, the Pixel 5a 5G, has been released, but the firm has yet to provide a successor to the Pixel 5, which was discontinued long before the Pixel 6 was released this autumn.

According to Google's recent patterns, the Pixel 4 and 4 XL were likewise discontinued less than a year after their launch.

Surprisingly, neither the Pixel 5 nor the Pixel 4A were shipped to India. In terms of the 5A, the smartphone will not be available in India for the time being. Only consumers in Japan and the United States will be able to purchase the Pixel 5A.

Google just announced that its future flagship smartphones, the Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro, will not come with a charger.
